CICB 2018 Year in Review

Cleveland Inner City Ballet 2018 Year in Review.

Community- In 2018 Cleveland Inner City Ballet collaborated with The City of Cleveland, The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Cleveland and Cleveland Public Library to offer free ballet programming to 433 children throughout Cleveland communities. Cleveland Inner City Ballet programming was made available in 11 different locations throughout Cleveland's East, West, North and South communities.

Cleveland Inner City Ballet dancers began rehearsals in September and performed a free community Nutcracker production with the Cleveland Public Library downtown Cleveland location. We performed to an audience of 250 members.

Pivots: In 2018 We decided to start a 3 year campaign towards owning our own dance facility. We have been aggressively planning and moving towards owning our own facility for dance education, classes, and programming for Cleveland communities.

Team: Cleveland Inner City Ballet welcomed back professional dancer Heather Weldon last summer. We said a sad Good Bye to Ryllie Danylko who is in Washington DC pursuing Graduate Studies and to Emily Lowe our Administrative Assistant who retired. Instructors Analese Chandler Nieve and Mawusi Nenenome both Seniors in college studying Dance as a major. We look forward to continuing next year with instructors who are available and with new instructors who will brought in next year.

Leadership: Cleveland Inner City Ballet Founding Artistic Director Chanda Ford- White will continue to lead CICB creating programming, performance, teaching and class opportunities for Cleveland communities. Meredith Viera, Khaliah Lawson and Eisha Hand have stepped in to help facilitate growth within the organization for 2019.

CICB's Intention for 2019: We intend to continue expanding community collaborations, to continue participating in Cleveland community events, performances and festivals. We also plan to continue towards our 3 year plan of owning our own dance facility.
